Microsoft Office

Rasmussen University offers Microsoft Office for our students. If you don’t already own this software, please follow the instructions below to install it so you’re prepared for success in your classes.

Microsoft Office 365

All Rasmussen students are provided with a download of the Microsoft Office Suite when they begin their courses. The suite includes Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and more. There are no additional costs for students. Download instructions for Microsoft Office are emailed to students shortly after their first day of class. 

Microsoft Office 365 for Chromebooks

Your Rasmussen download of the Microsoft Office Suite is not compatible with iPad, Chromebook. Instead, you can access web-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents through Microsoft 365. Note that while Microsoft 365 may be a suitable substitute in some cases, it may not be sufficient for assignments and courses that rely on more advanced features of the Microsoft Office Suite. Use the following steps to get started using your Chromebook to access Microsoft 365 applications:

  • Launch the application you need using the navigation pane in your student email inbox.

  • You will have the option to save your work as a digital file or download a copy to your computer:

Microsoft Teams

Rasmussen University uses Teams Classroom as the primary web conferencing tool. This means that your live classroom sessions and online tutoring appointments alike will take place through this technology. Microsoft Teams is equipped with interactive features that put real-time and asynchronous collaboration at your fingertips.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a comprehensive tool that checks grammar, mechanics, spelling, word usage, and plagiarism to assist in paper editing and review. Grammarly tailors recommendations to your writing style, ensuring your paper retains its unique voice while elevating professionalism.

Academic Writer

Academic Writer simplifies academic writing with templates, citation help, and access to learning materials designed for APA guidelines. It's perfect for students, educators, and researchers, enhancing writing skills, productivity, and academic excellence.                                                                                                                      

Noodletools

NoodleTools is a digital platform that assists with citations, document organization, and collaboration. It simplifies the process of citing APA sources, organizes research materials, and enables collaborative work, helping to avoid plagiarism by ensuring sources are credited correctly.

LearningExpress

The LearningExpess Library contains learning resources you can use to build your skills, and it is available to Rasmussen University students at no additional cost. Supported topics include skill areas like reading, writing, math, and science, as well as adult core skills, career and job-seeking, and computer skills. 

Programmatic Software

Certain software applications are assigned to students based on their program of enrollment and are not available to all students. For information on Rasmussen-issued software for your program, access the homepage for your School of Study.

Get Help

Students should contact Classroom IT Support for assistance resolving any technical issues they encounter. Classroom IT Support can assist students with issues related to login and password, software installation, online course navigation, student email, browsers and operating systems, assignment submissions and archive retrieval, FTP account setup, textbook shipment, Etextbook access, and digital course content.
