The importance of Developing a Support Network for Adult Learners

Pursuing a college education can be challenging. According to the Lumina Foundation, most college students are older adults with college experience who did not finish their degree or earn industry recognized certificates. These students are often caregivers for parents and children, work full or part-time, and have several barriers to success, such as unstable housing, transportation, and childcare.  

With a supportive environment and access to a positive network of support, adult learners can overcome barriers and become successful in their educational journey. A little support can go a long way.
