Your scholarship application essay of approximately 300-700 words should include the following:

Narrative with detailed examples, not generic reasons, for why you deserve the scholarship while not making it just about you
Clear expression of ideas
Community service and/or volunteer experiences in the HIT/HIM field, such as job shadowing
Buzzwords from the HIT/HIM field
"How I Will Use This Degree to Advance the HIM Profession"

FHIMA (Florida)
Scholarships are available to students in Coding, Health Information Technology, and Health Information Management programs.
MHIMA (Minnesota)
Individual scholarships are available up to $1500.
NDHIMA (North Dakota)
NDHIMA offers a scholarship of $1500.
WHIMA (Wisconsin)
Individual awards range from $100 to $1500.

AHIMA Merit Scholarship
Associate's degree - $1,000 award for students pursuing a Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accredited AA degree in HIM or HIT.
AHIMA Veteran's Scholarship
The selected recipient will be expected to attend the AHIMA annual meeting to receive the award and be formally welcomed into the AHIMA family. The recipient and his/her spouse or other selected family member's travel expenses will be paid by AHIMA.
AHIMA Foundation Scholarships with Specialty Criteria
Once the individual completes and submits the standard online scholarship application, the applicant is considered for any of the 15 specialty awards for which s/he is determined eligible. In some instances an additional essay question is asked to help qualify the applicant for a specific award.
AAPCCA Hardship Scholarship
All funds are disbursed based on availability and applicant’s ability to demonstrate reasonable hardship.
CHIME Scholarships
The Education Foundation of The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) provides scholarships and tuition assistance to CHIME members and future CIOs for attendance at a variety of educational conferences, events, and professional development programs. Scholarships of varying amounts are available.
Health IT Scholarships
The HIMSS Foundation annually awards scholarships to HIMSS student members who have achieved academic excellence and have the potential to be future leaders in the healthcare information and management systems industry.
Twelve scholarships will be awarded this year to the student(s) deemed most deserving as determined by the HIMSS Foundation Scholarship Review Board.
