The Minnesota GI Bill is available to:

►Minnesota veterans who served honorably in any branch of the armed forces at any time

►Non-veterans who served honorably for a cumulative total of five years or more as a member of the MN National Guard or any other active or reserve component and had active service after September 11, 2001

►Eligible spouses, surviving spouses, and children of permanently and totally disabled veterans who are eligible for the Federal GI Bill.

Surviving Spouse & Dependent Education Benefit

The Surviving Spouse and Dependent Education Benefit is available to:

►Spouses and dependents, including adopted and step-children, whose Veteran spouse and/or Veteran parent died while on active duty, or as a result of a service-connected condition.

►The Veteran must have been a resident of Minnesota when entering the U.S. military, or have been a resident of Minnesota for at least six months prior to passing away due to a service connected disability as determined by the USDVA.

►Applicants must be Minnesota residents and the spouse cannot be remarried.

►There is no age limitation for eligible survivors.



VetEd Education Grant

Veterans may apply for VetEd through their County Veterans Service Officer, apply online, or download an application, WDVA 2200. Online applications are the preferred method due to efficiency, faster processing, and can't be delayed or lost in the mail.
The application must be received by the department or an authorized agent no later than 60 days after the start of the course, term or semester for which reimbursement is being sought, or the grant will be denied.



Education for Children Of Deceased Or Disabled Florida Veterans

INITIAL REQUIREMENT: Submit a completed, error-free Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) by April 1 for priority consideration of an initial award


The child will:

•Be   between the ages of 16 and 22.

•Be   initially eligible prior to his or her 23rd birthday.

•Be a dependent child of a qualified veteran whose official military and residency status is certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs.

•Receive educational opportunity until such a time as the parent classified as prisoner of war or missing in action is returned alive or otherwise classified
