Academic Writer

Academic Writer, the authoritative APA editorial style resource developed by the American Psychological Association, is available to all Rasmussen students, faculty, and staff.  Academic Writer is organized into three sections/tabs:

  • Learn 

    • Includes video tutorials and "quick lessons" on all aspects of the APA citation style.
    • Provides examples of references, sample papers, tables, and figures
  • Reference

    • ​Includes a citation generator to create APA style references for a variety of resource types
    • Provides storage of all references created or imported into the tool for future use in papers
  • Write

    • Includes templates for both professional and student papers
    • ​Includes features to automatically insert properly formatted headings, in-text citations, and references lists

Make sure you click here to go to Academic Writer. This way you will be authenticated through Rasmussen's access. You should see the Rasmussen University logo as pictured in the image below.

Note:  Students should select the Basic Paper template and select the student paper option for most APA paper assignments.
