Many students who are using Military Education Benefits use Federal Financial Aid which includes both grants and loans. Below is general information about utilizing Federal Financial Aid.

CHAPTER 1606 SELECT RESERVES
Service members using Chapter 1606 are required to verify their school attendance each month in the Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) system or by calling the VA directly at 1-888-442-4551.
PLEASE NOTE: This is the STUDENT'S responsibility and failure to verify your enrollment in a timely manner may result in delays with your Education Benefit payments.

PRIOR EDUCATION TRANSCRIPTS
All students utilizing Military Education Benefits are required by the VA to provide transcripts from all prior learning and training. The purpose of this is to maximize your transfer of credit, get you to graduation faster, and extend the use of your benefits.

Withdrawing from a course?

Withdrawing from or failing a course may result in an overpayment between the student and the VA that you may be responsible to repay. Please contact a Military Specialist immediately if you are potentially withdrawing from or failing a course to discuss how this will impact your VA Benefits.
Abbey Arredondo
Abbey started working in Federal Financial Aid with Rasmussen University in 2009 and transitioned to the School Certifying Official for our Eagan, MN campus. In 2013 Abbey moved into her current position as Sr Military Specialist. Abbey feels this position fits her very well as it allows her to use her knowledge of Military Education Benefits to assist our service member students and their families in understanding their benefits.
Elizabeth Reimers
Elizabeth has been working in Higher Education since 2000 where she has gained experience in both Federal Financial Aid and Military Education benefits. She received her Bachelor's degree in English/Literary Analysis in 2009 and her Master's degree in Leadership Management in 2012. Elizabeth joined Rasmussen University in 2015 and enjoys her current role as Sr. Military Specialist.
