MN students from all program levels are eligible for scholarships. MN residents attending programs in other states will also be eligible. The scholarship is based on merit and not on financial need. Students can receive only one scholarship award for each program enrollment.
The selected recipient will be expected to attend the AHIMA annual meeting to receive the award and be formally welcomed into the AHIMA family. The recipient and his/her spouse or other selected family member's travel expenses will be paid by AHIMA.
Once the individual completes and submits the standard online scholarship application, the applicant is considered for any of the 15 specialty awards for which s/he is determined eligible. In some instances an additional essay question is asked to help qualify the applicant for a specific award.
The Education Foundation of The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) provides scholarships and tuition assistance to CHIME members and future CIOs for attendance at a variety of educational conferences, events, and professional development programs. Scholarships of varying amounts are available.
The HIMSS Foundation annually awards scholarships to HIMSS student members who have achieved academic excellence and have the potential to be future leaders in the healthcare information and management systems industry. Twelve scholarships will be awarded this year to the student(s) deemed most deserving as determined by the HIMSS Foundation Scholarship Review Board.
